NACCHO News for Local Health Departments

2026-2027 NACCHO Board Election - Voting Open and Election Reminders

The 2026 NACCHO Board of Directors Election Started on May 1st.

Thank you for your continued and active participation in the National Association of County & City Health Officials (NACCHO).  Contributions from local health department (LHD) members like you have led to the undeniable success of NACCHO as a membership organization. This has included NACCHO organizing successful LHD convenings including for informatics, vector control, maternal-child health, opioids and emergency preparedness and NACCHO’s tireless advocacy and information efforts pertaining to the coronavirus pandemic, to name a few. Most importantly, in serving the important needs of NACCHO members, NACCHO has worked diligently to ensure the success of LHDs across the United States. NACCHO could not have done all of this work successfully without your counsel, input, support and hard work. NACCHO thanks and appreciates you.

Now an important ask.  NACCHO asks that you to cast your vote on some important and required voting actions:

a) the NACCHO Board of Directors election for NACCHO's Vice President candidate position

b) three Regional Directors (Regions 4, 8 and 9)

c) two At-Large Directors (50-100K & 1M-Over)

A full vote is REQUIRED by our active, voting membership in order to accomplish these actions and we need your help to be successful.

Voting started, May 1, 2026 and closes at 11:59pm (EST) on Sunday, May 31, 2026.

IMPORTANT! Your official ballot will be sent as an email from the Association Voting email account, which is the platform used for official membership voting on NACCHO actions.  This email will have a weblink to the ballot and system generated password that has been personalized to you. Please do not share this information with anyone including your staff unless you wish for the person to vote as your designee as per the NACCHO by-laws.  Most importantly, please make sure to add support@AssociationVoting.com to your safe senders list and to check your spam box if you did not receive your ballot on May 1. Please email elections@naccho.org if you did not receive your ballot.

Please note that if you are NACCHO's primary contact for multiple agencies, you may (depending on your state's governance structure and provided that each individual agency pays dues to NACCHO) receive one ballot via email for each agency you serve.  Each ballot will have its own unique password that will be associated with your individual agencies.  If you receive multiple ballots, please note that this is intentional and you should feel free to cast multiple votes using each of the respective unique passwords provided.

Your vote is very important. Voting in the elections for NACCHO's Board allows you to determine who the leaders of your professional home will be for the coming years. NACCHO's Board plays a key role in driving advocacy and public health policy on local, state, and federal levels.  NACCHO's Board approves policy statements, meets with key leaders on critical issues related to public health, and serves as a voice to media and other outlets during times of public health emergencies and accomplishments.  This year’s voting elects the incoming Vice President of the Board, in other words, the incoming leadership of the Board who will advise to become President.  It is critical that your vote is cast to assure the NACCHO leadership represents our members.

For specific questions about NACCHO's upcoming elections, please feel free to email elections@naccho.org.  We look forward to your active participation in this year's election and voting cycle.
